Initial Setup for Konnexu
Feel free to skip any steps you've already done! Hope you find this helpful.
In order to manage the below settings, you'll need to be logged in to your ACP.
Step One: Set the Site to Offline Mode
Setting the site to "Offline Mode" allows you to set up or develop your site in privacy - bots and others won't be able to view the site. In order to access your site, navigate to the log in page (yoursite.com/login) and you can log in normally.
Step Two: Setting the Site Details
The Site Name, and Meta Description will help you with SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
For better site notification Email delivery, you'll want to set the site Email "From" name which shows when users receive notifications and other site Emails. The site Email setting is important as this allows you to use your site domain Email. This helps get your site transactional Emails delivered and not end up in the spam box of the receiver. We also recommend changing the Email signature to make it more unique and match your site.
Step Three: Member Registration Settings
Member registration settings are one of the most important steps to take. This allows you to control how members join your community, whether it's by invite, or open registration, you have total control over the steps involved to become a member of your community. The site starts in the invite only setting.
Step Four: Setting Privacy and Terms of Service
Your Privacy Policy and Terms of Service govern how members use your site, and how their privacy is handled. Members will be very concerned with your privacy policy, so it's best to take time putting one together. The Terms of Service protect you, and as such, you should seek advice from legal sources in your area when creating one.
Step Five: Anti-Spam Settings
You'll want to set up anti-spam protection in order to keep your site tidy and as free from spam as possible. Spam can be a huge detriment for your site SEO and user experience.
