Video Settings

To manage video settings, click the "Settings" tab. You'll see the following settings:

Pagination Style

This sets how the video browse page is set up to view more videos.

  • Scroll down to load more items
  • Use Next and Previous buttons
  • Use Pagination with page number

Enable uploading of videos

Enabling this setting allows members to upload videos from their device.

Allow posting on main feed

This toggle sets whether the videos will post to the main activity feed or not.

Category is required

If you want members to have to select a category, enable this setting.

User Group Settings

Important!

Any user group settings that say "all" such as "Can edit all..." are meant for admin, staff, moderators as this allows the user to edit/delete, etc. items submitted by any members.

To manage user group settings, click the User Group Settings tab. You'll see a drop-down menu to select each user group and the settings for them. Note that not all user groups can use all settings. For example, user groups that can't log in cannot comment or do any actions that require log in. As most of the settings are self-explanatory, we will go over some that may need more explanation. However, should you need more help, please feel free to contact us.

Maximum number of shared videos

Define the total number of videos a user within this user group can share from video sharing sites such as YouTube. Notice: Setting this value to 0 will allow them to share an unlimited number of videos.

Maximum number of videos

Set this to how many videos you want this member level able to upload from their computer. Notice: Setting this value to 0 will allow them to upload an unlimited amount of videos.

Maximum file size of video uploaded (MB)?

Note:

This input only accepts numeric values. Do not add "MB". For example, just put 1000 and not 1000MB.

Set the maximum file size, in MB, for each uploaded video for this member level. When used in conjunction with "Maximum number of videos," you can control how much space is used by the member. For example, if you set this to 1000, noting that 1000MB = 1GB, and if you set "Maximum number of videos" to 10, you would be restricting the member to a maximum space allowance of about 10GB for videos.

Maximum file size of photo uploaded (KB)?

This setting controls the file size of the video thumbnail a user can choose to upload for their video in case they don't want to use the auto-created video thumbnail.

Known Issues

  • YouTube - some videos will not embed due to YouTube restrictions, user privacy settings on the video, age or country restrictions, or other settings controlled by YouTube.

Professional Videographer Settings 1 {Coming Soon}

Enabling the Videographer setting will create a new Videographer member level. This level has special permissions. You can choose to allow other member levels to use these settings as well.
