Interaction Settings

To manage interaction settings, click the "Settings" tab. You'll see the following settings:

Add interaction to activity feed

If enabled, every interaction sent by a user will be added to the activity feed.

User Group Settings

To manage user group settings, click the User Group Settings tab. You'll see a drop-down menu to select each user group and the settings for them. Note that not all user groups can use all settings. For example, user groups that can't log in cannot comment or do any actions that require log in.

Can members of this user group interact with other members?

This allows members in this level to interact with other community members.

Can members of this user group send interactions only to people on their friends list?

Enabling this setting restricticts interactions between friends. (If you disable this option, members of this user group will also be able to interact with people who are not on their friends list)

Define how many minutes this user group should wait before they can send another interaction.

Set how many minutes before members in this group should wait before sending more interactions. Note: Set this value to 0 or leave it empty if there should be no limit.

Managing Interactions

To manage interactions, click the "Interactions" tab.

Adding Interactions

For our tutorial, we will use a Ghost interaction, seen in the screenshot below.

  • Click "New Interaction" at the right of the list of interactions.
  • Enter the Name of the interaction. This will show to the user sending the interaction.
  • Enter the Notification Message that will be sent to the person receiving the interaction.
  • Enter the Sending Message that the sender sees when sending the interaction.
  • Choose an Icon for the interaction by clicking the icon box and choosing from available emojis.
  • Click "Save" to save this interaction.

Add Interaction

Editing or Deleting Interactions

To edit an interaction, click the gear to the left of it and select Edit. You can then change the name, Icon or message. Deleting an interaction is done by selecting Delete after clicking the gear to the left of the interaction.

Enabling or Disabling Interactions

Enable or disable interactions by toggling the button in the Active column. Blue is enabled and grey is disabled.

Changing the Order of Interactions

To change the order of interactions, drag the up/down arrows to the left of the interaction that you want to move in the direction you want to move it and drop it in place. It will then show both in admin and front end in the order you set it.
