Newsletter Acceptable Use Policy

Overview

Konnexu Newsletter helps businesses, organizations, and community owners create, manage, and deliver newsletters and email campaigns. This policy protects subscribers and supports reliable delivery for everyone.

This policy supplements the Bello Dynamic Terms of Use and any applicable service agreements. In the event of a conflict, the applicable agreement governs unless it expressly provides otherwise.

Permission-Based Email

You must have a lawful basis for contacting each subscriber and comply with applicable marketing and privacy laws. We encourage clear opt-in consent and double opt-in where appropriate.

You may not:

  • Send spam or unsolicited campaigns without a lawful basis.
  • Use purchased, rented, scraped, harvested, or otherwise improperly obtained mailing lists.
  • Misrepresent sender identities, subject lines, subscriber permission, or message content.
  • Send to people who have unsubscribed or otherwise objected when the law requires you to stop.
  • Distribute phishing messages, malware, fraudulent campaigns, or unlawful content.

We may request reasonable evidence of how subscribers were obtained and the lawful basis for contacting them.

Importing Existing Subscriber Lists

You may import subscriber lists from other newsletter platforms, including services such as Mailchimp, provided that:

  • The addresses were collected lawfully and you have an appropriate legal basis to continue contacting those recipients.
  • The intended Konnexu Newsletter messages are consistent with the permissions or other lawful basis under which the addresses were collected.
  • Unsubscribed, suppressed, invalid, or otherwise ineligible addresses are excluded from active campaigns.
  • You can provide reasonable evidence of the list's origin and permission or other lawful basis if requested.

Importing a list does not itself establish permission to email its members. Purchased, rented, scraped, and improperly obtained lists remain prohibited.

Subscriber Information and Privacy

You are responsible for collecting and processing subscriber data lawfully, providing appropriate privacy notices, protecting the information you upload, maintaining accurate lists, and respecting applicable subscriber privacy rights.

Do not upload sensitive personal information unless its processing is expressly authorized and legally permitted. You retain responsibility for your lists and campaign content.

Unsubscribe Requirements

Marketing messages must provide a clear, working unsubscribe method. Honor requests within applicable legal deadlines, maintain necessary suppression records, and do not re-add recipients without an appropriate lawful basis. Use one-click unsubscribe mechanisms where required by applicable email provider rules.

Responsible Sending

To protect sending reputation, please:

  • Remove invalid and repeatedly bouncing addresses.
  • Monitor and respond to spam complaints and unsubscribe activity.
  • Use accurate sender information and appropriate domain authentication.
  • Respect reasonable sending limits and other technical safeguards.

We may adjust limits, pause campaigns, or restrict sending when activity threatens deliverability, infrastructure, or other customers.

Delivery and Campaign Results

Email delivery depends on recipient servers, spam filters, domain reputation, authentication, and other factors outside our control. We cannot guarantee inbox placement, delivery to every recipient, scheduled delivery at an exact moment, or specific campaign results.

You are responsible for complying with applicable laws, including the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act and relevant privacy and electronic marketing laws in the regions where your recipients are located. Depending on the circumstances, requirements may include accurate sender information, truthful subject lines, a valid postal address, appropriate consent or other lawful basis, and effective unsubscribe options.

Abuse, Restrictions, and Suspension

We may pause campaigns, restrict sending, suspend accounts, or terminate service when reasonably necessary to address spam, improperly obtained lists, fraud, security threats, serious deliverability problems, nonpayment, or policy violations. When practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue; urgent threats may require immediate action.
